The O Shot®

Okay ladies, it seems you all have questions but are a little nervous to make the first move. I get it! It was a little difficult for me to talk about all of this at first too. Now we have helped so many women; I feel like I cannot stop talking about it! I am going to walk you through the process step by step to hopefully answer all your questions. Please do not hesitate to come in for a free consultation if you want to see or hear more. Consultations are done with our female medical aesthetician, Tawnie. She is sure to put you at ease.

The most common question I get in my Facebook Messenger is this… “What is this shot that you are doing and what does it do?” Well let me tell you a little bit about it. This injection is really for anyone! It is specifically for increased arousal, vaginal health, bladder leakage, and any pain you are experiencing day to day or with intercourse. We have other vaginal treatments that help with some of these issues too but today I want to talk about the O-Shot® and what to expect if you decide to proceed with this amazing procedure.

Day of procedure you have no restrictions. You will arrive at the office and empty your bladder. We ask that you are well hydrated to help with the blood draw. You will have a single blood draw from your arm to fill one vial with blood which contains all the platelet rich plasma (PRP) we need. While the vial is spun in our centrifuge Tawnie will start to apply the numbing cream, so you are comfortable for the injections. You are fully covered and allowed to relax while we prepare everything.

The next steps are quick with very minimal discomfort. I will inject lidocaine around the clitoris, followed by injection of PRP. Since we use lidocaine first the PRP injection feels more like pressure than pain. The remainder of the PRP is injected in the vagina just behind your urethra and we are done! I have not met a single patient that did not tell me the procedure was not what they expected. They are pleasantly surprised at how easy and comfortable they were.

I have worked in women’s health since 2009 as a labor and delivery nurse and nurse practitioner. I do my very best to explain each step and keep you as covered and as comfortable as possible.
After we are done you should be ready to go with no downtime. You may experience a very mild spotting from the injection sites but nothing more. Results can start to be seen as early as a few days but should continue to improve over the next 4-6 weeks.

I hope this answered some questions. Please do not hesitate to give us a call. We would love to take care of you!
