Stem Cell Joint Therapy
Stem Cell Joint Therapy
Regenerative stem cell joint therapy is at the forefront of pain management methods in treating most sports injuries and other musculoskeletal conditions.
It is a non-surgical, in-office procedure that provides fast, effective and long-lasting liberation from discomfort and pain using your own abdominal fat as stem cell therapy/regenerative cells.
In the body all cells start as generic cells. With state of the art procedures, Evolve Aesthetics and Regenerative Medicine can take these cells and “specialize” them to perform a function, like healing and regeneration.
The results are outstanding!
Frequently Asked Qestions
Your aesthetic provider will perform a thorough consultation to determine the best approach and plan of care for your needs.
First, your collection site/abdominal wall fat is numbed with lidocaine via small pinches with a needle.
A special cannula/long needle is then introduced into the abdominal fat to obtain the regenerative cells. Most patients experience little to no discomfort during this collection process.
Using a special decanting process, your regenerative cells are separated from any blood and washed.
These regenerative cells are then given as injections to the site of injury with a local anesthetic, using the smallest gauge needle possible, to reduce pain at the injection site.
One session usually lasts 60 minutes.
You may resume normal, low impact activities after a regenerative stem cell joint injection. You can expect some mild bleeding at the site of the regenerative stem cell collection from the abdomen. You can also expect some mild redness, swelling and possible bruising at sites of injection. The injection procedure is usually minimally painful and similar to that of any other type of injection. Even though it may be somewhat uncomfortable, it’s important to remember that it is creating a healing response. Some individuals do report an “achy” soreness at the site of injury, just a few hours following the injection. This soreness is a positive sign that the healing process has been set in motion. This effect can last for up to 3-7 days and will gradually decrease as healing and tissue repair occurs.
There is a possibility of increased pain and allergic reaction from local anesthetics used during the procedure. Although rare, infection of the structures near the injection site could occur as well. Nerve or tissue damage could also occur.
Some individuals may see improvement right away, more often within 2 weeks. The regenerative stem cell joint therapy is designed to promote long-term healing of the injured tissue. The regeneration of connective tissue can continue for months. Some individuals may possibly require multiple injections with or without PRP to get the regeneration of tissue and pain relief desired..
Individual results can vary during the period of regeneration, but typically last up to 3 years.
Final price dependent on consultation with your aesthetic provider and number of joints injected, but typically:
Stem cell joint injection: $2800
Stem cell joint injection plus 2 PRP injections for enhanced regeneration: $3500
You should not receive an injection if you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant or are breastfeeding. Likewise, you should not receive a stem cell/regenerative cell joint injection if you have an active infection of the joint/skin/or surrounding tissues.
It is best to avoid aspirin, ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), naproxen (Aleve) and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications 7 days prior to procedure to reduce the risk of bleeding and bruising, as well as fish oil.
